The Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Professional Fellows Program empowers Latin American and Caribbean entrepreneurs to drive societal transformation and contribute to economic development. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and led by the Meridian International Center, this initiative will bring 250 young entrepreneurs to the U.S. for a five-week fellowship including an opening and closing program in WashingtonDC.
 
I had the privilege of being selected for theYLAI fellowship, partnered with the International Living Future Institute in Seattle. During my ILFI fellowship, I immersed myself in sustainable building and design, gaining valuable experience in implementing the Living Building Challenge (LBC), the most rigorous and ambitious sustainability standard for buildings.
